How much magnification needs which surgical discipline?

The recommendation of magnifications and working distances with surgical loupes for the Surgery or Dentistry is an objective guideline.

A subjective default is not meaningful for several reasons.

With consideration by the following reference points you can consult the table at the end of page as an objective guideline for the selection of the correct binocular loupe units of your magnifying glass eyeglasses.

The accommodation width of the human eye decreases with increasing age. This entails a reduction of the focal length;

Visual acuity and subjective visual feeling are different things;

The optimal working attitude depends on the body size and the treatment method of the Surgeon;

On medical discipline depends the enlargement and the working distance is variable;

The desired magnification can be a compromise, if a larger field of view is needed;

Influences, which are not foreseeable by the room lighting (also missing lighting).
